Big Man

Well, I feel as if I haven't blogged as much about how big Ben is getting . . . so here it goes. He is now four years old! Clearly, I didn't think that I would survive his first year with all of the work that a baby entails :) So, every year beyond that one is an extra special bonus. He is truly a very sweet boy with a big personality. He and I went through a 6 month period of time when he was 2 years old that I don't really want to remember (tantrums, head-butting, tantrums, tantrums, climbing out of bed 146 times a night, etc.), but he emerged out of that phase and has never looked back. Around age 3, he developed compassion and rational thought. I could read books with him and he understood more than just basic concepts. Ben also started to get into games and puzzles by then. It was so fun to sit and enjoy a game (that's if HE won at that point, the opposite was still a big mess) and just talk together. He has learned so much in the last year.

I decided as part of this post, I would interview Ben so I wouldn't be misinforming you on his personality!

So, Ben ~ what are your favorite things to do?
I like to get dressed. I also like to eat food and I really like cottage cheese right now.

What do you like to play with?
I really like my cars and my trucks. My favorite game is Yahtz*ee Jr. with Toy Stor*y characters. I like to win.

What are your favorite shirt and pants?
I have a good shirt. It has a motorcycle on it. I love my sweatpants. My underwear with Wall*E on them are pretty cool.

What is your favorite outside activity?
Swing. I like to visit Grandma and Grandpa D and Grandma and Grandpa Goose.

What is your favorite movie?
Cars, of course.

What do you want to be when you grow up?
A teacher.

What does Dad do for a job?
Sometimes he gets owies. Oh, I don't know what he does. Mom teaches, she teaches little kids.

Are you ready to go to school in the fall?
I can't wait to ride a bus. I want to do that RIGHT NOW!

Well, there you have it folks. Straight from the horse's mouth! I can't believe that four years have passed me by (my life without this crazy kid is pretty much what I consider a past life).

  2. Love the interview! Favorite quote: "I like to eat food." For some reason, turning 4 felt like entering a whole new stage of childhood for me....no more baby. Such a fun age. Happy Birthday!
